Sooraj Barjatya is all set to commence shooting for his next directorial venture, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari, on November 1, 2025. The film, a romantic family entertainer, will be produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Anita Gurnani.

The film marks a significant collaboration between Barjatya and Khurrana, with the latter stepping into the shoes of the iconic character "Prem," famously portrayed by Salman Khan in several of Barjatya's earlier hits. However, this time, the character will be presented with a fresh, modern twist while still upholding the classic family values that Barjatya's films are known for. Barjatya himself has described Khurrana as a "dedicated and fine" actor. He added that the movie is set in Mumbai.

Sharvari has been cast as the female lead, marking her first collaboration with both Barjatya and Khurrana. Sources suggest that Sharvari was chosen for her ability to bring vulnerability and innocence to the romantic family drama. The film is generating buzz, with attention being paid to the on-screen chemistry between Ayushmann and Sharvari. The pairing is considered fresh, unexpected, and intriguing.

This project reunites Rajshri Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films after their successful collaboration on "Uunchai" (2022). Sources indicate that both Barjatya and Jain enjoyed working together on "Uunchai" and decided to collaborate again for this upcoming film. Mahaveer Jain's upcoming projects also include "Naagzilla," starring Kartik Aaryan, in collaboration with Dharma Productions.

While the film's title and plot details are currently under wraps, it is expected to carry the trademark Sooraj Barjatya stamp, with a focus on family, relationships, and Indian culture. Barjatya's films are known for celebrating Indian culture, and this one will be an extension of his world, keeping modern elements in mind. His experience in connecting with audiences through films like "Maine Pyar Kiya", "Hum Aapke Hain Koun", "Hum Saath Saath Hain", and "Vivah" has proven to be widely commercially successful.

The film will also feature a larger ensemble cast, a hallmark of Barjatya's films, where each character contributes to the emotional depth of the story. Anupam Kher, Seema Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak are also expected to feature in the film.

Ayushmann Khurrana has confirmed his collaboration with Barjatya. He had attended the silver jubilee edition of FICCI Frames 2025, where he spoke about his upcoming projects, including the Barjatya film. Besides this film, Khurrana is also working on "Pati Patni Aur Woh Do" with Sara Ali Khan, scheduled for release on March 4, 2026, and has other films lined up with Dharma Productions. Sharvari is also preparing for the release of "Alpha", a female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe, where she will share screen space with Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol, which is slated to release on Christmas this year.

The film is set to shoot in Mumbai and is expected to be released next year.
