The makers of the upcoming Malayalam horror thriller Dies Irae, starring Pranav Mohanlal, have appealed to fans to refrain from creating and sharing unofficial posters of the film. All Night Shifts, one of the production houses behind the movie, made the announcement via social media on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
The production house expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm and creativity surrounding Dies Irae but requested that fans avoid creating, sharing, or resharing unofficial posters, as these altered the intended tone of the movie. They clarified that all official artwork and updates would be available on the production house's official social media platforms.
Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, has already been certified 'A' by the Censor Board and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 31, 2025, coinciding with Halloween. The film, earlier known as #NSS2, marks Pranav Mohanlal's return to a lead role.
The recently released trailer has heightened anticipation for the film. It introduces Pranav Mohanlal as the son of a family believed to be cursed, who experiences strange and eerie events.
The film reunites director Rahul Sadasivan with several of his trusted collaborators from previous projects. Shehnad Jalal is the cinematographer, Shafique Mohamed Ali is the editor, Jothish Shankar is the art director, and Christo Xavier is composing the music. Kalai Kingson, known for his action choreography in Marco, is also part of the team. Dies Irae is produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, with Ramachandra Chakravarthy and S. Sashikanth as producers.
The initial poster release on Pranav Mohanlal's birthday, July 13, 2025, had already generated significant buzz online. The poster, featuring Pranav in a rugged and intense look, sparked various fan theories, with some suggesting cult affiliations and Illuminati references. The poster's dark visuals, including a goat-like figure and mysterious pairs of legs, fueled speculation about the film's narrative and hidden meanings.
