Anupam Kher's IndiGo Flight Cancellation: Actor Expresses Frustration Over Connecting Flight Disruption and Travel Plans.

Veteran Bollywood actor Anupam Kher experienced travel disruptions on Monday, December 15, 2025, when his connecting IndiGo flight from Varanasi to Khajuraho was canceled. Kher was en route to the Khajuraho International Film Festival, where his directorial film, "Tanvi The Great," is scheduled to be screened.

Kher took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his experience, expressing his frustration with the situation. In a video posted on the social media platform, Kher explained that he had arrived in Varanasi from Hyderabad on an IndiGo flight and was supposed to catch a connecting flight to Khajuraho. However, upon arrival, he discovered that the connecting flight had been canceled.

Despite the inconvenience, Kher maintained a positive attitude, stating that he doesn't usually complain. He added that he wanted to "vent" his frustration and would make the best of the situation. Kher shared a philosophical message, recalling his grandfather's saying: "Don't go through a problem twice! Once by thinking about it, and once by going through it!". He humorously mentioned that he would seek out some delicious local food to lift his spirits.

IndiGo responded to Kher's post on X, expressing regret for the disruption to his journey. The airline explained that severe fog and weather disruptions in the morning had impacted multiple flights across their network, leading to the cancellation of the Varanasi–Khajuraho sector. IndiGo stated that they had shared timely communication about the cancellation with Kher via the contact information he provided during booking.

Kher outlined his revised plans, which included visiting the Kashi Vishwanath Temple to offer prayers and exploring Varanasi by train or road. He emphasized his intention to attend the Khajuraho International Film Festival for the screening of "Tanvi The Great," which is scheduled to take place from December 16 to December 22, 2025.

The cancellation of Kher's flight is part of a larger disruption affecting IndiGo, with over 100 flights operating from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport canceled on Monday due to dense fog and adverse weather conditions. The airline issued a statement citing low visibility due to dense fog as the primary cause of the disruptions, stating that the situation was beyond their control. IndiGo also warned that disruptions may continue throughout the day and that some flights may be delayed or proactively canceled to prioritize safety and minimize prolonged waiting at airports.

"Tanvi The Great" marks Anupam Kher's return to directing after 23 years. The film addresses the theme of autism and features music by M.M. Keeravani. Besides Kher, the Khajuraho International Film Festival is expected to be attended by other film personalities, including Saurabh Shukla, Sushmita Mukherjee, Subhash Sehgal, and Chandraprakash Dwivedi.
