Since its release on December 5, 2025, Aditya Dhar's directorial venture, Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, has taken the box office by storm, prompting speculation about its potential to enter the top 10 highest-grossing Hindi films of all time. The film, featuring an ensemble cast including Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan, has garnered attention for its strong action sequences, world-building, and the performances of its cast.
As of December 15, 2025, Dhurandhar has grossed ₹471.90 crore domestically and ₹122.60 crore overseas, accumulating a worldwide gross of ₹594.50 crore. Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that the film has already earned ₹379 crore in India and ₹588 crore globally. Dhurandhar had a strong second weekend, with a 40% increase in domestic earnings compared to its first weekend, minting ₹59 crore net in India on Sunday. Its total domestic earnings after the second weekend reached ₹144.50 crore. According to Sacnilk, the movie earned ₹4.56 Cr India net on its twelfth day.
The film has received mixed-to-positive reviews, with praise directed towards the cast performances, direction, cinematography, and action, though its pacing and 214-minute runtime have been points of criticism. The film received an ‘A’ (adults only) certificate from the CBFC for strong violence and was banned across the countries of the GCC for being allegedly "anti-Pakistan".
Currently, Dhurandhar is the second highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 and the third highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. It has surpassed the lifetime collections of several major hits, including Coolie, Dunki, War, and Pushpa: The Rise.
Whether Dhurandhar can break into the top 10 highest-grossing Hindi films remains to be seen. To do so, it would need to surpass films such as Tiger Zinda Hai (₹339.16 crore) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (₹320.34 crore). Some of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time include Dangal (₹2,070 crore), Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹1,788 crore), and RRR. The highest-grossing Hindi film in India is Jawan with ₹525.5 crore, followed by Gadar 2 with ₹524.8 crore.
The film's performance in the coming weeks will be crucial in determining its final box office position. With positive word-of-mouth and continued audience interest, Dhurandhar has a strong chance of achieving this milestone. A sequel, Dhurandhar: Part 2 – Revenge, is scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, which could further boost the franchise's overall box office success.
