Lily Collins, the star of the Netflix hit "Emily in Paris," has hinted that Greece might be the next glamorous location for the show, following the recent season set in Rome. While Netflix hasn't officially confirmed a sixth season, Collins has dropped some intriguing clues about where Emily's adventures could take her next.
The Season 5 finale already provided a major hint. After Emily's breakup with Marcello, Gabriel sent her a postcard inviting her to join him in Greece, where he is working as a private chef on a yacht. This invitation strongly suggests that Greece could be a primary location in a potential sixth season.
Collins also pointed out another clue from the Season 5 finale. After Mindy accepted Nico's proposal, she expressed her desire to have her bachelorette party in Mykonos. Collins teased that these storylines could intertwine, with Gabriel potentially crashing the bachelorette party.
While Collins is excited about the possibility of filming in Greece, it's unclear how much of the season would be set there. In Season 5, about half the story took place in Italy, while previous non-Paris locations like Megève and Saint-Tropez were only featured for an episode or two. In the fifth season, Emily decides that Paris is her true home.
If Season 6 heads to Greece, creator Darren Star hopes Emily accepts Gabriel's invitation and that Camille might also be involved in the storyline. Collins also hopes that Mindy will join Emily in Greece.
Season 5 saw Emily navigating a new career path in Rome and a relationship with Marcello. However, the season ended with Emily and Marcello's split, and Gabriel's invitation opens the door for a potential rekindling of his relationship with Emily.
Other storylines in Season 5 included Mindy's music career taking off after a video of her performing in Rome went viral, leading her to a judging role on "Chinese Popstar" in Shanghai. Sylvie closed the Rome office and relocated the team back to Paris.
Filming for "Emily in Paris" often takes place in various locations in France, including iconic spots like the Champs-Élysées, Luxembourg Gardens, Montmartre, and the Seine River. Season 4 also included locations such as Roland Garros Stadium, Claude Monet's House and Gardens in Giverny, and the Baccarat Museum. In the past, the series has filmed at the Palace of Versailles, the Eiffel Tower, Saint-Tropez and Provence.
Whether or not "Emily in Paris" gets renewed for a sixth season remains to be seen. If it does, fans can anticipate a potential premiere around this time next year.
