Akshay Khanna's Night Shoot Woes: Veteran Actor Declares 'Night Shoots Bardasht Nahi Hota' His Biggest On-Set Challenge.

Akshay Khanna, the star of the recently released spy action thriller Dhurandhar, has been a topic of discussion not only for his performance in the film but also for some of his past statements that have resurfaced. Among these, his aversion to night shoots has caught particular attention. The actor, known for his private life and selective roles, has previously expressed his strong dislike for working at night, citing it as "the worst part" of his job.

Khanna's recent film, Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar and also starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Sanjay Dutt, has been a box office success, grossing over Rs 650 crore worldwide in just 13 days. Khanna's portrayal of Rehman Dakait, a Pakistani gangster, has been particularly praised, with many considering it a highlight of the film. Despite the film's success and the accolades he's received, Khanna remains detached from the fanfare, reportedly staying at his Alibaug home away from the bustle of Mumbai.

In an earlier interview, Khanna had opened up about his experiences in the film industry, admitting that he made mistakes early in his career by choosing the wrong films and scripts. He emphasized that he never tried to copy anyone. Despite initial struggles, he found his footing and carved a niche for himself. Khanna also revealed that his father, the late actor Vinod Khanna, did not encourage him to become an actor, preferring that he pursue further studies. However, Akshaye had decided by the age of 15 or 16 that acting was what he wanted to do, as it was the only thing that would bring him happiness and satisfaction.

The actor's preference for a low-key life extends to his absence from social media and his limited engagement with promotional activities. Karan Johar once jokingly said that even if Khanna won an Oscar, he would decline it because he doesn't go out on weekends. This reclusive nature contrasts sharply with the self-promotion that has become commonplace in the entertainment industry.

According to DNA India, Dhurandhar's casting director, Mukesh Chhabra, shared that Akshaye Khanna had a simple reaction to the film's success: "Haan, mazza aaya". Chhabra also spoke about Khanna's process on set, noting that he stays in his own space, handles his aura carefully, reads his scenes multiple times, and comes fully prepared.

Akshaye Khanna's journey in Bollywood has been marked by his unique choices and his commitment to his craft. While he may not be a conventional superstar, his recent success in Dhurandhar has solidified his position as a respected and admired actor in the industry. Despite his aversion to night shoots and his preference for a private life, Khanna continues to captivate audiences with his performances, proving that his talent speaks louder than any publicity.
