The Beckham family feud has seemingly gone public, with reports circulating that David and Victoria Beckham have unfollowed their eldest son, Brooklyn, on Instagram. The social media activity comes amid ongoing rumors of a rift that reportedly began after Brooklyn's marriage to Nicola Peltz in 2022.
Adding to the intrigue, it appears Brooklyn, 26, has also unfollowed his parents, David, 50, and Victoria, 51. Further, David and Victoria do not follow Nicola, 30, on Instagram. However, the couple continues to follow their other sons, Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 20. Their youngest child, Harper, 14, has a private Instagram account.
Adding another layer to the story, Cruz Beckham has defended his parents, claiming that David and Victoria didn't unfollow Brooklyn but were, in fact, blocked by him on the platform. Cruz shared a screenshot of a news article on his Instagram Stories, stating, "NOT TRUE. My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let's get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I". A spokesperson for Victoria Beckham told PEOPLE that Cruz was responding to stories that his parents had unfollowed their son, which isn't true.
The rumored feud reportedly began around the time of Brooklyn and Nicola's wedding. One theory suggests that tensions arose when Nicola opted for a Valentino gown instead of a design by Victoria Beckham. Nicola's stylist described the Valentino dress as "the most beautiful dress she had ever seen".
Adding fuel to the fire, Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from David Beckham's 50th birthday celebration in London, despite reportedly receiving an invitation. While Romeo, Cruz, and Harper all attended, Brooklyn and Nicola's absence raised eyebrows. A source claimed they skipped the event due to the presence of Romeo's girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, who was allegedly once linked to Brooklyn, though these rumors have been denied.
The Beckham family were last pictured together on Boxing Day last year. Victoria posted a photo on Instagram featuring David, their three sons, daughter Harper, and Nicola, with the caption, "Being together for the holidays makes me so happy".
Despite the apparent discord, Victoria reportedly hopes that Brooklyn will reach out to his grandparents during the Christmas season. Sources say that Victoria has "given up" on Brooklyn contacting her this Christmas, but wants him to remember his grandparents, Jackie and Tony, as they had a special bond.
As the family prepares to spend their first Christmas without Brooklyn, Nicola has hinted that she and Brooklyn will be spending Christmas Day with her family this year.
