Shivarajkumar Praises Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna's Performances in Dhurandhar: A Challenging Feat.

Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar has praised Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna for their performances in the film "Dhurandhar". Speaking at the success press conference for his film "45", Shivarajkumar commended the performances in the Aditya Dhar directorial, which has been the subject of much discussion. He specifically highlighted the work of Akshaye Khanna and Ranveer Singh.

Shivarajkumar described "Dhurandhar" as emotionally strong, stating, "The emotions were fantastic, the making was very good, and every actor has performed exceptionally well". He elaborated on the distinct approaches taken by the lead actors in their roles. According to Shivarajkumar, Akshaye Khanna's character allowed for a broader exploration of emotional layers, while Ranveer Singh's role demanded restraint and careful calibration. He noted that such subtlety requires tremendous skill to execute effectively.

"Akshaye's character had room to breathe and showcase multiple facets," Shivarajkumar explained. "But Ranveer's part called for something far more delicate and understated. That kind of subtle performance is genuinely difficult to nail, yet he delivered it with both brilliance and grace".

Shivarajkumar also emphasized the increasing significance of ensemble-driven films in contemporary Indian cinema. He stressed that multi-starrer projects have become essential to the industry, creating platforms where diverse acting styles and performances can coexist and elevate the overall cinematic experience.

"Dhurandhar", directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on December 5, 2025. The film is an action-packed spy thriller. Ranveer Singh plays Hamza, an Indian spy who infiltrates terror networks in Pakistan. Akshaye Khanna plays Rehman Dakait, who Hamza works his way up through.

The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, has declared "Dhurandhar" tax-free in the Union Territory. Gupta noted that the film was shot extensively in the region and showcases Ladakh's scenic landscapes. He also reiterated the administration's commitment to supporting filmmakers and promoting Ladakh as a preferred hub for film shoots and tourism, while working on a new film policy.

Meanwhile, 2025 was a grim year for Kannada films with a record number of films and fewer hits. The industry had 256 Kannada film releases and 282 releases statewide, but only a 0.78% success rate. "Kantara: Chapter 1" and "Su from So" were hits, while Darshan's "Devil" and Kichcha Sudeep's "Mark" underperformed.
