Ananya Panday and Anurag Kashyap's Hilarious Ad Feud: Chunky Panday Approves of the Funny Banter.

In a surprising collaboration, Ananya Panday and Anurag Kashyap are seen engaging in playful banter in a new advertisement for TRESemme. The ad, which premiered recently, showcases the actor and the director humorously taking digs at each other.

The advertisement starts with Ananya acting in a scene where she is kidnapped and is required to scream for help. However, Anurag interrupts, stating that her hair looks too perfect for the scene. Ananya responds by claiming to be a method actor and that she has not washed her hair. Anurag, seemingly annoyed, retorts by comparing her hair to that of his AD's. Ananya then fires back, accusing Anurag of calling her "Bandra Panday" when speaking to the assistant directors and now finding fault with her shampoo and conditioner. The advertisement concludes with Anurag hilariously stealing the shampoo from Ananya's vanity van.

The unexpected pairing of the two personalities has generated considerable buzz online. Ananya herself acknowledged the surprise, stating, "An Anurag Kashyap film definitely wasn't on my 2026 bingo card".

Adding to the fun, Ananya's father, Chunky Panday, has also chimed in, expressing his approval of the advertisement. He has called the ad "fab".

This isn't the first time Anurag Kashyap has commented on Ananya Panday. In July 2025, Kashyap called Ananya one of his favorite "nepo kids," referring to the ongoing debate around nepotism in Bollywood. He also noted a change in her approach to acting after Siddhant Chaturvedi's comment on the struggles of star kids in a 2019 interview. Chaturvedi had responded to Ananya's statement about her own struggles by saying, "Everybody has their own struggles. The only difference is that where our dreams get fulfilled, their struggle begins". Kashyap believes that this comment impacted Ananya and led to a transformation in her career choices, with her taking on more experimental roles in films like 'CTRL', 'Kho Gaye Hum Kahan', and 'Gehraiyaan'.
