Pulkit Samrat shines at Rahu Ketu trailer launch: A dapper appearance you shouldn't miss!

The trailer launch of the upcoming comedy-thriller Rahu Ketu, starring Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma, took place on Tuesday in Mumbai. Pulkit Samrat, known for his dapper style, made a striking appearance at the event, capturing attention with his fashion sense. The film, directed by Vipul Vig, who has previously written for the Fukrey franchise, promises a blend of mythology, comedy, and a touch of the surreal.

Rahu Ketu tells the story of two misfits, Rahu and Ketu, who are considered unlucky. However, fate intervenes, tasking them with bringing corrupt individuals to justice. The trailer suggests a narrative filled with slapstick humor and a high-concept idea, reminiscent of the Fukrey universe.

Pulkit Samrat expressed his long-standing desire to be part of a fantasy film, a dream fulfilled with Rahu Ketu. He fondly recalled watching fantasy films like Ajooba and Chhota Chetan during his childhood. Varun Sharma reunites with Pulkit Samrat for their fifth collaboration, promising to deliver their signature comic timing and camaraderie.

The ensemble cast includes Piyush Mishra, Shalini Pandey, Amit Sial, Manu Rishi Chadha, Chunky Panday, and Sumit Gulati, adding depth to the narrative. Piyush Mishra, who was present at the trailer launch, described Rahu Ketu as a mythological thriller with layers of social satire, cautioning against labeling it as just a comedy. Shalini Pandey plays the female lead, Meenu Taxi, with Pulkit Samrat comparing her role to that of Richa Chadha in Fukrey. Shalini Pandey shared her positive experience, emphasizing the fun journey and the director's vision, which allowed actors to bring their instincts to the table.

Director Vipul Vig expressed his hope to create a Rahu Ketu franchise, similar to Fukrey. The film is backed by Zee Studios and Blive Productions. The trailer opens with Piyush Mishra's voice, setting the mythological context of Rahu and Ketu and connecting the film to folklore. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on January 16, 2026.
