United in Triumph: A Star-Studded Mumbai Event Honoring India's World Cup-Winning Cricket Teams Through Photographs

In a dazzling display of national pride and sporting achievement, India's victorious cricket teams from the Men's T20 World Cup, the Women's World Cup, and the Blind Women's T20 World Cup were celebrated at the "United in Triumph" event in Mumbai. The gala, hosted by Reliance Foundation founder-chairperson Nita Ambani, brought together cricketing legends, Bollywood celebrities, and other prominent figures to honor the teams' remarkable accomplishments.

The "United in Triumph" event, held on Monday, January 5, 2026, served as a heartfelt tribute to the teams that brought immense joy and pride to the nation. Nita Ambani described the occasion as a "thank you on behalf of every Indian" to the World Cup-winning teams. She highlighted the unifying power of sports, stating, "Sport joins hearts and India. Today we are united in triumph. We are going to celebrate them and celebrate their victories".

The evening saw the convergence of star power, with the three World Cup-winning captains – Rohit Sharma (Men's T20), Harmanpreet Kaur (Women's World Cup), and Deepika TC (Blind Women's T20 World Cup) – taking center stage. Their leadership, resilience, and unwavering belief were lauded as key factors in shaping the historic victories.

The Men's T20 World Cup-winning team, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, secured their victory against South Africa in Barbados the previous year. A fine display of pace bowling in the final overs and a half-century by Virat Kohli contributed to their success. The Women's World Cup team also triumphed over South Africa at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, with stellar performances from Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma. The Blind Women's team clinched the inaugural Women's T20 World Cup for the Blind by defeating Nepal in Sri Lanka.

The event was attended by a galaxy of stars, including former Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara. Other notable attendees included Amitabh Bachchan and many other celebrities and sports personalities.

"United in Triumph" is the brainchild of Nita M. Ambani and reflects her vision of sports as a force for excellence, inclusion, and unity. It celebrates not only the victories but also the values and purpose that define India's sporting journey. This edition marks the second "United in Triumph" event, with the first one having celebrated India's Olympians and Paralympians.
