The gala, hosted by Reliance Foundation founder-chairperson Nita Ambani, brought together cricketing legends, Bollywood celebrities, and other prominent figures to honor the teams' remarkable accomplishments.

The "United in Triumph" event, held on Monday, January 5, 2026, served as a heartfelt tribute to the teams that brought immense joy and pride to the nation. Nita Ambani described the occasion as a "thank you on behalf of every Indian" to the World Cup-winning teams. She highlighted the unifying power of sports, stating, "Sport joins hearts and India. Today we are united in triumph. We are going to celebrate them and celebrate their victories".

The evening saw the convergence of star power, with the three World Cup-winning captains – Rohit Sharma (Men's T20), Harmanpreet Kaur (Women's World Cup), and Deepika TC (Blind Women's T20 World Cup) – taking center stage. Their leadership, resilience, and unwavering belief were lauded as key factors in shaping the historic victories.

The Men's T20 World Cup-winning team, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, secured their victory against South Africa in Barbados the previous year.
