Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 Set for April 2026 Release, Preceding Ajay Devgn's Hindi Version by Months.

The highly anticipated Malayalam crime-thriller, Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal, is set to release in April 2026. Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed the release date, stating the film will hit theaters in the first week of April. This release will be approximately six months ahead of the Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn, which is slated to debut on October 2, 2026.

The announcement was made by Jeethu Joseph during a hospital inauguration event. He also cautioned the audience to watch the movie without any big expectations. "Drishyam is a film that has influenced a lot of people over the years. It carries a huge weight of expectations within itself, and I ask everyone to watch it without any big expectations," said Joseph. The official release date announcement will be made soon.

Drishyam 3 continues the story of Georgekutty, the central character portrayed by Mohanlal, known for his intelligence and calm decision-making. The story picks up four and a half years after the events of the last film. Meena will reprise her role as Georgekutty's wife, Rani, and Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil will return as their daughters. The film also features Siddique, Murali Gopy, Asha Sharath, KB Ganesh Kumar, and Santhi Mayadevi in key roles.

Initially, there were speculations that both the Malayalam original and the Hindi remake would be released simultaneously. However, the Malayalam version will now have a clear six-month lead. The October 2 release date for the Hindi version holds special significance for the Drishyam franchise, as the events in the films are closely tied to Gandhi Jayanti.

The Drishyam franchise has been a major success in both Malayalam and Hindi cinema. Drishyam, the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film, was released in 2015 and earned ₹197 crore worldwide. Drishyam 2, released in 2022, was even more successful, earning ₹345 crore worldwide.

There are reports that Mohanlal's Drishyam 3 may have entered into a major partnership with Panorama Studios, potentially resulting in the largest deal ever for a Malayalam film, exceeding Rs 350 crore.

Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Shriya Saran are expected to return for the Hindi remake. The Hindi version of Drishyam 3 will be directed by Abhishek Pathak.

Moviegoers can anticipate a suspenseful continuation that stays true to the emotions and intrigue that made the first two films so popular.
