Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that the state government is undertaking focused efforts to prepare the youth for competitive exams through "Mission Pragati". This initiative aims to provide free academic and physical training to students, particularly those from rural backgrounds, to help them succeed in various recruitment examinations.
CM Mann interacted with students enrolled in Mission Pragati at the District Library in Bathinda. He emphasized the government's commitment to supporting meritorious students from rural areas who lack access to affordable coaching. Free coaching has commenced at the district library for exams conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB), police, and armed forces.
The Chief Minister highlighted that Mission Pragati is rooted in the principle of "no one left behind". The mission aims to provide equal opportunities to youth and increase their representation in government services. The education reforms are focused on transforming job seekers into job providers and ensuring the holistic development of the youth.
Currently, the first batch consists of 40 students. Along with classroom teaching, physical training is also being provided by experienced trainers from the Punjab Police and C-Pyte to ensure the overall preparedness of candidates. Students will also be given free access to books and study material by enrolling them as library members. The program utilizes existing infrastructure to minimize expenditure.
Mission Pragati follows a "youth helping youth" approach, where mentors are candidates who have themselves appeared in competitive examinations. This mentoring model provides guidance and support to fresh candidates.
CM Mann expressed confidence that the program would significantly benefit students and reaffirmed the government's commitment to the holistic development of Punjab and the prosperity of its people. He also stated that this initiative marks a step towards transforming Punjab's youth into job creators instead of job seekers, stressing the government's broader vision of an Education Revolution that combines skill development with opportunities for holistic growth.
