Global superstars BTS are joining forces with Netflix for an unprecedented livestream event and an exclusive documentary, marking their highly anticipated return to the world stage. The news, confirmed on February 3, 2026, has sent waves of excitement through the ARMY and K-pop fans worldwide.

BTS will be holding "BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG" at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21 at 8 PM KST. This performance will be broadcast live to approximately 300 million subscribers across 190 countries via Netflix, making it the platform's first livestream of a Korean event on such a global scale. The Seoul Metropolitan Government has conditionally approved the plans for the comeback event.

This comeback show marks BTS's first full-group stage appearance in nearly four years, following the completion of all members' mandatory military service. The performance at Gwanghwamun Square, a symbolic location representing Korea, is expected to be a visually stunning celebration of culture, roots, and the band's next chapter. Big Hit Music stated that holding the concert at Gwanghwamun Square will set another milestone in Korean cultural history.

In addition to the livestream event, Netflix will also premiere "BTS: The Return," a documentary film, on March 27. This exclusive documentary will offer a behind-the-scenes look into the making of BTS's new album, "Arirang," capturing the creative process, internal struggles, and reflections that shaped their return after a hiatus of roughly three years and nine months. The film promises an intimate glimpse into how "today's BTS" came together.

BTS's fifth studio album, "Arirang," is set to drop on March 20, a day before the livestream concert. The album features 14 songs and is described as a deeply personal and reflective record that explores the group's identity, cultural heritage, and artistic evolution. The album's title, "Arirang," references the beloved Korean folk song and suggests themes of longing, unity, and homecoming.

BigHit Music explained that "Arirang" is an album that explores BTS's roots and identity, as well as emotions the members wish to convey. They chose a venue that represents Korea for the group's first performance, given the symbolic significance of the concept of "Arirang".

Following the album's release, BTS will reportedly embark on the ARIRANG World Tour, with 82 shows across 34 regions from Asia to the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, spanning through 2026-2027.
