Pawan Kalyan, the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, Jana Sena Party chief, and prominent actor, is reportedly battling a viral fever ahead of the highly anticipated release of his film OG. Despite his illness, Kalyan has been actively fulfilling his political duties, attending assembly sessions and conducting review meetings with government officials.
Reports indicate that Kalyan had been experiencing symptoms for the past couple of days but continued with his engagements. However, his condition worsened on Monday night, prompting doctors to advise him to take rest and undergo treatment. While doctors have suggested rest, Kalyan has continued to participate in official matters through teleconferences.
Sources suggest that his recent participation in the OG pre-release event in Hyderabad, where he was drenched in rain for an extended period, may have contributed to the viral infection. Despite the downpour, Kalyan remained to entertain the crowd.
Kalyan's dedication to his work is evident as he balances his political responsibilities with his film commitments. His new film OG is directed by Sujeeth and is slated to release on September 25, 2025. In the film, Kalyan stars as Ojas Gambheera, also known as OG, and Emraan Hashmi makes his Telugu debut as the rival gangster Omi Bhau. The film also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj.
OG has already generated significant buzz and anticipation among fans. The film is expected to have a massive release in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Advance ticket sales are strong, and the film is expected to break records. Reportedly, the film has already grossed ₹75 crore in worldwide advance bookings. The film's production budget is approximately ₹250 crore.
Fans and party members have taken to social media to express their concern and wish Kalyan a speedy recovery. The Jana Sena Party has clarified that Kalyan is holding teleconferences with officials on departmental issues, despite his illness. Kalyan’s office has also requested the public and officials to wish him a speedy recovery as he balances treatment with ongoing administrative duties.
Following the release of OG, Kalyan is expected to take a break to focus on his political career with the Jana Sena Party.
