Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, is set to make its digital debut on Netflix on September 26, 2025. This release follows the film's theatrical run, which began on August 1, 2025.

Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is not a direct sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak starring Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. Instead, it is a remake of Mari Selvaraj's Tamil drama Pariyerum Perumal, known for its exploration of caste and social barriers. The Hindi adaptation tells the story of two young individuals whose relationship is challenged by systemic prejudice, echoing themes of identity, discrimination, and resilience.

The film's narrative attempts to balance romance with social commentary. Siddhant Chaturvedi plays Neelesh Ahirwar, a Dalit law student, while Triptii Dimri portrays Vidhi Bhardwaj, an upper-caste classmate. As their romance blossoms, they face resistance from Vidhi's family and society.

Dhadak 2 faced hurdles before its theatrical release, including delays due to technical issues and interventions from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The CBFC reportedly demanded 16 cuts before granting the film a U/A certificate. These changes were aimed at toning down politically, religiously, and socially sensitive content.

Despite praise for Chaturvedi and Dimri's performances, Dhadak 2 had a subdued performance at the box office. The film earned an estimated worldwide total of ₹29 crore, with ₹19.87 crore from India net collection. Made on an estimated budget of ₹60 crore (including promotions), the movie fell short of recovering its costs.

Netflix has been confirmed as the official OTT platform for Dhadak 2. The film's digital premiere is expected to give it a fresh opportunity to connect with a broader audience beyond its theatrical release.
