Mark Wahlberg enjoyed a rare red carpet appearance with his entire family at the world premiere of his new movie, Play Dirty, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The premiere was held at the SVA Theater in New York City.
Wahlberg was supported by his wife, Rhea Durham, and their four children: Ella, 22, Michael, 19, Brendan, 17, and Grace, 15. According to Wahlberg, his children now have a newfound appreciation for his work since they are old enough to watch his films. He told People magazine that his kids now "love seeing dad swearing, kicking ass — all the things that they couldn't see when they were kids, they're now allowed to see". He also mentioned that the family watched Play Dirty together while in Paris.
Play Dirty is an upcoming American action thriller co-written and directed by Shane Black. The film is based on Donald E. Westlake's "Parker" book series, written under the pen name Richard Stark. Mark Wahlberg stars as the lead character Parker, with LaKeith Stanfield as Grofield, another recurring character from the series. The cast also includes Rosa Salazar as Zen, Tony Shalhoub as Lozini, Keegan-Michael Key as Ed Mackey, Nat Wolff as Kincaid, Chukwudi Iwuji as Phineas Paul, Gretchen Mol as Grace Webb, and Thomas Jane as Philly Webb.
The film's plot revolves around Parker, described as an expert thief, and his crew who "stumble onto a score that pits them against the New York mob in this gritty, clever caper". Parker teams up with Grofield to outsmart adversaries, including a South American dictator, the New York mafia, and one of the world's wealthiest men. Unlike typical movie criminals, Parker relies on psychology instead of technology.
Other cast members in attendance at the premiere included Rosa Salazar, Keegan-Michael Key, Tony Shalhoub, Nat Wolff, and Thomas Jane, along with director Shane Black.
Play Dirty is set to be released by Amazon MGM Studios via Prime Video on October 1, 2025. It will be available for streaming in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
