Fauji: Prabhas' Action Spectacle Confirmed for August 2026 Release, Promising High-Octane Thrills

Makers of the highly anticipated Prabhas-starrer action drama, tentatively titled "Fauji," have confirmed the film is slated for release in August 2026. The pre-independence war drama is expected to hit screens on August 14, 2026, coinciding with the Independence Day weekend. While an official announcement from the team is still awaited, the date appears well-suited, given the film's patriotic theme.

Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi of "Sita Ramam" fame, "Fauji" is set in the pre-independence era and features Prabhas in the role of a soldier. The film is rumored to be a sweeping romantic-action saga set in the 1940s. The storyline will reportedly combine grandeur, nostalgia, and emotional depth, with Prabhas' character's journey intertwining with the freedom struggle.

The film marks the acting debut of social media star Imanvi, who will play the female lead opposite Prabhas. The cast also includes Bollywood veterans Mithun Chakraborty, Jayaprada, and Anupam Kher in pivotal roles.

Production for "Fauji" is well underway, with approximately 60% of the shooting already completed. Prabhas has reportedly wrapped up most of his major sequences, with only about 35 days of filming left on his schedule. The production team has focused on creating grand sets reminiscent of the colonial era.

Vishal Chandrashekhar, known for his acclaimed music in "Sita Ramam," is composing the music for "Fauji". Sudeep Chatterjee is handling the cinematography, while Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is in charge of editing.

"Fauji" is being produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind the "Pushpa" franchise. The film is reportedly being made on a massive budget of ₹400 crore, making it one of the most expensive Telugu productions currently in progress. There are also talks of potentially expanding the story into a cinematic universe with a prequel in the works.

Currently, Prabhas is in Greece filming song sequences for his horror-comedy film, "The Raja Saab," directed by Maruthi. The film, which also stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Ridhi Kumar, is slated for release on Sankranthi 2026. Besides "Fauji" and "The Raja Saab," Prabhas has several other projects lined up, including Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Spirit," "Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2," and "Salaar 2". He is also said to be working with director Prasanth Varma of "HanuMan" fame.

The makers of "Fauji" are expected to make an official announcement regarding the release date early next year. Until then, fans eagerly await further updates on this period action drama.
