Rakhi Sawant Suggests Tamannaah Bhatia Opted for Item Numbers After Facing Career Setbacks in Lead Roles.

Rakhi Sawant has once again ignited a Bollywood controversy, this time taking aim at actress Tamannaah Bhatia's recent foray into dance numbers. Sawant, who has been residing in Dubai, is back in India and is making headlines with her bold statements. She has asserted herself as the "original item girl" of the industry, suggesting that actresses like Bhatia are merely following in her footsteps after failing to establish themselves as leading heroines.

In an interview with Filmygyan, Sawant expressed her opinion that contemporary item songs lack the spark and energy that she brought to the screen in her prime. She stated, "Yeh log hum log ko dekh-dekh kar item song karna seekh gaye. Yeh pehle heroine banna chahte the, jab inka heroine mein career nahi chala, toh inhone humare pet par laat maar ke, item song karne lag gaye. Sharam karo! OG toh hum hi hain. Aur hum ab heroine banenge". This translates to: "These people have learned to do item songs by watching us. They initially wanted to become heroines, but when their careers didn't take off, they started doing item songs, kicking us in the stomach. Shame on them! I am the original, and now I will become a heroine".

Sawant's comments come as Bhatia enjoys considerable success with her dance numbers. Her latest track, "Ghafoor," from Aryan Khan's directorial debut, "The Ba**ds of Bollywood," has gone viral. Bhatia has also appeared in "Aaj Ki Raat" from "Stree 2" and in "Raid 2" alongside Ajay Devgn. She also delivered one of the year's biggest dance hits, "Kaavaalaa," from Rajinikanth's "Jailer".

Despite her success with dance numbers, Bhatia has expressed a desire to explore other genres. She has stated her interest in action and adventure films, indicating a desire to diversify her roles. "I definitely want to do something in the action space — that's something I really aspire to. I'd also love to do an adventure film. It's a genre not explored much, but I'd like to take that leap,” she said.

Bhatia described her experience working on "Ghafoor" with Aryan Khan and choreographer Farah Khan as "magic!". She said that Khan was "super clear and perceptive," and she was able to shoot the song in just one day because of the team's efficiency.

Rakhi Sawant is known for her candid and often controversial remarks. She recently appeared in the reality show "Pati Patni Aur Panga". While Sawant stakes her claim as the "original item girl," Tamannaah Bhatia continues to captivate audiences with her performances and explore new avenues in her career.
