Jammu Police Dismantles Two Drug Networks, Arresting Eight Peddlers, Including Four Women, in Crackdown.

Jammu police have successfully dismantled two significant drug networks, leading to the arrest of eight individuals, including four women, and the recovery of a substantial quantity of heroin. The operations, conducted in the Rajiv Nagar and R.S. Pura areas, represent a major blow to organized crime in the region.

According to Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Joginder Singh, these arrests followed investigations into separate cases in the aforementioned areas. The coordinated efforts have resulted in over 18 arrests of drug peddlers in recent weeks, some of whom were residents of Punjab living in Jammu as tenants.

In the Rajiv Nagar operation, police apprehended Vishal Kumar, a known drug peddler, seizing 275 grams of heroin and an electronic weighing machine. Further investigation revealed that Kumar procured the contraband from Reena, also a resident of Rajiv Nagar. A subsequent search of Reena's residence, conducted with the assistance of a Naib Tehsildar, led to the recovery of 55 grams of heroin, a weighing machine, and ₹33,490 in cash. Reena was promptly arrested.

The investigation continued, resulting in the arrest of three more women, Sheetal, Payal, and Kajal, who were associates of Vishal and Reena. Police seized 13 grams of heroin, two weighing machines, and ₹3,050 from their possession.

In a separate operation in the Chak Talab area of R.S. Pura, police arrested three drug peddlers: Inderjeet and Vishal Kumar, both from Punjab, and Jagdish Raj, a resident of Chak Talab. Authorities recovered 186 grams of heroin from their possession.

These recent successes underscore the Jammu police's commitment to combating the drug menace. Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activity to their local police station, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in building a drug-free society.
