Taskaree: Emraan Hashmi Enters Neeraj Pandey's Smuggling Underworld - A Glimpse into the New Netflix Series

Emraan Hashmi is set to star in Neeraj Pandey's crime thriller series, "Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web," which will be available on Netflix. The series is produced by Friday Storytellers. The teaser for the series was released on December 17, 2025. "Taskaree: The Smuggler's Web" is scheduled to premiere on January 14, 2026.

The one-minute-long teaser provides a glimpse into the high-intensity action and suspense that the series promises. It opens with Emraan Hashmi's voiceover, highlighting smuggling operations centered around Mumbai Airport. The clip showcases the nexus between criminals and law enforcers, with Hashmi's character determined to bust the cartel. The series was filmed across various locations globally.

Emraan Hashmi plays Superintendent Arjun Meena, a customs officer, who is at the center of the action, working to crack down on a worldwide network of gold smuggling and other valuables. The series delves into the underbelly of organized smuggling, exploring the movement of power through unseen routes and the scarcity of trust.

Neeraj Pandey, known for his thrillers such as "A Wednesday!", "Special 26," and "Baby," created the series. "Taskaree" marks Pandey's third Netflix series, following "Khakee: The Bihar Chapter" and "Khakee: The Bengal Chapter". According to Neeraj Pandey, "Taskaree" aims to take the audience into the unexplored area of airport customs while maintaining a large scale, authenticity, and emotion.

The ensemble cast includes Zoya Afroz, Nandish Sandhu, Amruta Khanvilkar, Freddy Daruwala, Anuja Sathe, Anurag Sinha, Jameel Khan, Virendra Saxena, and Hemant Kher. Sharad Kelkar also appears in the series.
