Taeyong of NCT: Eagerly Anticipated First Stage Appearance Following Military Service Completion Approaches

NCT's Taeyong is swiftly returning to the stage after completing his mandatory military service. He was discharged from the South Korean Navy on December 14, 2025, after serving for approximately 20 months. Taeyong enlisted in April 2024 and served as a cultural promotion soldier in the Navy Band and Honor Guard, specifically within the publicity unit of the Gugak Honor Guard Battalion. As the first NCT member to fulfill South Korea's mandatory military service, his return marks a significant moment for the group and his fans.

Taeyong's first official stage appearance post-military discharge will be at the 2025 SBS Gayo Daejeon on Christmas Day, December 25. This performance is highly anticipated by fans who have eagerly awaited his return.

In addition to the SBS Gayo Daejeon, Taeyong has announced a solo concert tour, "2026 Taeyong Concert: TY Track – Remastered," which will begin in Seoul on January 24 and 25, 2026, at the Ticketlink Live Arena (Handball Gymnasium) in Olympic Park. The concert is a remastered version of his first solo show, "TY Track," held in February 2024, which was praised for its cinematic portrayal of Taeyong's artistic journey. The remastered version promises upgraded music and a more expansive production.

Following the Seoul shows, Taeyong will embark on a tour across six regions in Asia, with a total of 10 performances. The tour dates and locations include: Jakarta (February 7), Yokohama (February 16–17), Macau (February 28–March 1), Bangkok (March 28–29), and Kuala Lumpur (April 11). Taeyong aims to reconnect with his international fans who have been waiting for him during his military service through this tour.

Taeyong made his solo debut in June 2023 with his first mini album, "Shalala," showcasing his unique musical identity. In February 2024, he released his second mini album, "Tap," for which he wrote all the tracks. His first solo concert's setlist consisted entirely of songs he personally worked on, highlighting his creative control and solidifying his image as a complete artist.

Upon his discharge, Taeyong shared his feelings with fans through Instagram, expressing gratitude for their support and love during his service. He mentioned that he wrote songs during his military service and is eager to share them with his fans.

While many fans are excited about Taeyong's return and solo activities, some have expressed disappointment with the scale of his Asia tour, suggesting that it does not reflect his global popularity and impact. They have urged SM Entertainment to add more dates and larger venues to accommodate his worldwide fanbase.

Despite these concerns, Taeyong's return to the stage is highly anticipated, and his upcoming performances at the SBS Gayo Daejeon and his solo concert tour are expected to be major events for K-pop fans.
