Today marks the official India launch of the OnePlus 15R, the latest entrant in OnePlus's premium smartphone lineup. The event, also showcasing the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition and the OnePlus Pad Go 2, is set to commence at 12 PM IST in Bengaluru. For those unable to attend in person, the launch will be livestreamed on the OnePlus India YouTube channel and other social media platforms.
The OnePlus 15R has been generating significant buzz, particularly surrounding its internal specifications and design. It is expected to be an aggressive premium device, offering both power and value to customers.
OnePlus has confirmed that the 15R is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The company claims to be the first to globally launch with this chip. The device is also equipped with the new G2 Wi-Fi chip and a Touch Response Chip.
The OnePlus 15R is expected to feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate display.
Powering the phone is a confirmed 7,400mAh battery with 80W fast charging.
For photography, the OnePlus 15R will likely feature a dual-camera setup, including a 50MP primary rear shooter and an 8MP ultrawide camera. A 32MP front-facing camera will also be present for selfies and video calls. The rear camera is said to support 4K video recording at up to 120fps.
The OnePlus 15R is confirmed to have IP66 + IP68 + IP69 + IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance. It will run on Android 16-based OxygenOS 16. It will also support Plus Mind, the OnePlus AI technology.
The OnePlus 15R will reportedly be offered in 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB RAM and storage options. The base version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage may be priced between Rs. 47,000 and Rs. 49,000. The higher variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage could be priced at over Rs. 52,000. The company is expected to provide bank discounts of up to Rs. 3,000 or Rs. 4,000 with credit and debit cards.
The OnePlus 15R and OnePlus 15R Ace Edition will be available for purchase in India via Amazon and the OnePlus India online store. The OnePlus 15R is confirmed to be offered in Charcoal Black, Mint Green, and Electric Violet colorways.
