India's iPhone Export Surge: Apple Hits $2 Billion Milestone in November 2025, a New Record

Apple Inc. has achieved a record-breaking milestone in November 2025, with iPhone exports from India reaching $2 billion, the highest monthly export value ever recorded by the company in India. This surge in exports underscores India's growing significance in Apple's global manufacturing and supply chain strategy.

The $2 billion worth of exports in November have propelled Apple's total iPhone exports from India to approximately $14 billion during the first eight months of the current financial year, FY26. This achievement highlights the rapid expansion of Apple's manufacturing activities in India, as the company strategically shifts production and assembly operations to the country.

Recent company filings reveal that Apple India also achieved record domestic sales of $9 billion in FY25. Furthermore, one in every five iPhones produced worldwide in FY25 was manufactured or assembled in India, demonstrating the country's increasing importance in Apple's global operations. Manufacturing activity in India now accounts for roughly 12% of Apple's total global production value.

While India's contribution to Apple's $416.1 billion global revenue in FY25 was just over 2%, analysts have noted a sharp year-on-year increase in India's share of iPhone production. Notably, Apple began local assembly of its high-end Pro and Pro Max iPhone models in India for the first time, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of its manufacturing footprint in the country.

According to company filings, the Americas remained Apple's largest revenue contributor in FY25, generating $178.4 billion, or nearly 43% of global revenue. Europe followed with a 26.7% share, while Greater China accounted for 15.4%. A growing portion of iPhones sold in the Americas are now being shipped from India.

Apple's revenue from India has increased nearly eightfold over the past decade, driven largely by strong demand for iPhones, along with MacBooks, iPads, AirPods, and accessories. Services continue to account for only a small single-digit share of total sales in the country.

Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the company delivered a September-quarter revenue record across emerging markets and achieved its highest-ever revenue in India.

Apple's iPhone exports in November constitute nearly 75% of the total smartphone exports from India, which amounted to $2.7 billion for the month. Until FY25, Apple's exports originated from three factories, two in Tamil Nadu and one in Karnataka. In FY26, Apple expanded iPhone production by adding two new factories, one each in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. All companies that are part of the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme submit their monthly figures to the government.
