Amidst heavy rain and strong winds in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a video surfaced showing a man taking down an iron signboard that was dangling precariously from a high-tension wire. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, May 17, 2025, was reported from Sector 20 in Noida, drawing a large crowd of onlookers who captured the scene on their mobile phones.
The video clip shows the man, identified as an employee, using a combination of kicks and hand movements to dislodge the signboard from the wire. He successfully manages to detach the board, earning him praise on social media, where he is being hailed as a "Superman" by some.
The incident highlights the challenges posed by severe weather conditions, as the strong winds and heavy rainfall caused the signboard to become dislodged and create a potential hazard. In addition to the signboard incident, a traffic light pole collapsed in nearby Sector 27 due to the strong winds and heavy rainfall, further disrupting vehicular movement. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in either incident. There were also reports of fallen trees and electric poles in other areas of the city.
Authorities from the traffic department and Noida Development Authority responded to the situation to help clear the roads and manage the aftermath of the storm. The quick response aimed to minimize disruption and ensure public safety.
This incident isn't the first time individuals in Noida have been involved in risky situations with electrical infrastructure. In November 2024, a young man climbed a high-tension pole in Sector 113, coming into contact with live wires but miraculously escaping injury. Locals and authorities worked together to safely bring him down. Similarly, another man was rescued after climbing a high-voltage power line in Sector 76.
