A video has surfaced showing YouTuber Jasbir Singh, recently arrested for alleged espionage, alongside Jyoti Malhotra, who was also arrested last month on similar charges, in Lahore, Pakistan. The video, reportedly from last year, shows the two travel vloggers together in various locations within Lahore, enjoying street food, shopping, and interacting with locals. Jasbir Singh is also seen visiting Nankana Sahib, a significant Sikh religious site.
The emergence of this video follows Jasbir Singh's arrest by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali. He is accused of being linked to a Pakistan-backed espionage network. Authorities allege that Singh has connections to PIO Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, who is believed to be a part of a terror-backed espionage network. Singh, who operates the YouTube channel "Jaan Mahal" with over 1 million subscribers, is a resident of Mahlan village in Rupnagar district.
Investigations reveal that Jasbir Singh traveled to Pakistan on three occasions: in 2020, 2021, and 2024. He also attended a Pakistan National Day event in Delhi upon the invitation of Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and an expelled official from the Pakistan High Commission. During this event, Singh reportedly met with Pakistani Army officials and vloggers. Law enforcement agencies are currently conducting a forensic examination of Singh's electronic devices, which contain multiple Pakistan-based numbers.
After Jyoti Malhotra's arrest, Singh allegedly attempted to erase all digital traces of his communications with these individuals to avoid detection. An FIR has been registered in Mohali, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the broader espionage-terror network and identify all collaborators.
Jyoti Malhotra, who runs the YouTube travel channel "Travel with JO," was arrested last month and placed in judicial custody for 14 days on May 26. She is accused of having direct links with Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, sharing classified information, and regularly meeting with officials at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Sources claim Malhotra made two trips to Pakistan and was seen in Lahore's Anarkali Bazaar under armed guard protection.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that Jasbir Singh was in close contact with Malhotra and Danish. He added that Singh was associated with PIO Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, who is part of a terror-backed espionage network.
The investigation is a collaborative effort between the Punjab Police, Intelligence Bureau, NIA, and military intelligence agencies. Authorities are committed to safeguarding national security and preventing anti-national elements from thriving.
