Parth Samthaan has officially concluded his stint as ACP Ayushmaan in CID 2, marking an emotional farewell to the iconic crime show. The actor took to social media to express his gratitude, stating, "And that's it from ACP Ayushmaan... From being trolled by people to making them love this ACP, it was a beautiful journey of learnings, laughter, and sweet memories."

Samthaan's entry into CID 2 was initially met with mixed reactions. Some fans were skeptical, fearing he would replace the beloved ACP Pradyuman, played by Shivaji Satam. However, these concerns dissipated as it became clear that ACP Ayushmaan was introduced to assist the legendary officer, not to supplant him. Over time, Parth won over audiences with his performance and charm.

Despite the growing admiration, Samthaan had previously shared that his appearance on the show was temporary. With his final episode now completed, the cast and crew gathered to give him a warm farewell. The farewell bash included a heartfelt cake-cutting ceremony attended by Shivaji Satam, Hrishikesh Pandey, Aditya Srivastava, and other members of the CID team. Photos and videos from the celebration have gone viral, with fans expressing their love and support for the actor.

Samthaan reflected on his experience, saying, "I will always cherish the bond I shared with the entire CID team—cast and crew. So much love and respect for one another, no wonder it became the longest-running and most iconic show. A big thank you to all the creatives and @sonytvofficial for making me a part of your family. Until next time."

CID, which originally aired from 1998 to 2018, has left an indelible mark on Indian television. Its reboot, CID 2, brings back memories and iconic characters while welcoming new faces like Parth. The return of Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman is also expected to drive a new direction for the series, shifting the focus back to the original character and introducing new cases.

The actor also revealed that he had initially rejected the role. He said he was hesitant because of the show's long-standing cast and the fact that they would have to address him as 'sir' on screen. He eventually agreed after being persuaded by the team.

While fans will miss seeing him on screen as ACP Ayushmaan, his short but impactful journey has certainly left a mark. One fan commented on social media, "Even with limited episodes, he left a mark with his powerful screen presence and unmatched versatility... This role hit different intense, sharp, and unforgettable... We'll miss you, Parth." Another added, "ACP Ayushmaan you'll be missed not just by #CID2 but also by OG #CID viewers!!"

Parth Samthaan confirmed that he joined CID 2 as ACP Ayushmaan for a short guest role that was later extended for a couple of months. He also said that he has other work commitments lined up.
