In light of the escalating tensions in West Asia, particularly following recent military actions between Israel and Iran, India has issued a fresh advisory for its nationals residing in Israel, Iran, and Palestine. The advisories, released on Saturday, June 14, 2025, urge Indian citizens to exercise caution, remain vigilant, and adhere strictly to local safety guidelines and protocols.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has expressed deep concern over the evolving situation and is closely monitoring developments through its missions in the region. The advisories from the Indian embassies in Tel Aviv and Tehran, as well as the Representative Office of India (ROI) in Ramallah, reflect the government's commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad.

For Indian nationals in Israel, the advisory emphasizes the need to stay vigilant and follow safety protocols as advised by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command. The embassy has specifically urged citizens to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel within the country, and remain close to safety shelters. Contact information, including 24/7 helpline numbers and email addresses, has been provided for citizens requiring assistance. The Indian Embassy in Israel posted the advisory on its X account and is continuously monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of Indian nationals.

Similarly, the Indian Embassy in Iran has advised all Indian nationals and persons of Indian origin to exercise extreme caution. The advisory requests that citizens remain vigilant, avoid all unnecessary movements, and closely follow the embassy's social media accounts for updates. Adherence to safety protocols, as advised by local authorities, is also strongly recommended. The embassy has shared emergency contact numbers for Indians in Iran who may require assistance.

The Representative Office of India in Ramallah has issued an advisory for Indian nationals in Palestine, requesting them to remain vigilant and observe locally advised safety and emergency procedures. Citizens are urged to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement. The ROI has also provided an emergency contact number and email address for citizens seeking assistance.

These advisories come in the wake of heightened tensions following reported military strikes by Israel at various sites in Iran, and retaliatory actions from Tehran. These events have sharply escalated regional tensions, prompting concerns for the safety of civilians, including Indian nationals residing in the affected areas.

The Indian government has stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and is in contact with local authorities to ensure the safety of its citizens. The MEA has reiterated its call for both Iran and Israel to avoid any escalatory steps and to exercise restraint.

In addition to the government advisories, Air India has also taken measures to ensure the safety of its passengers. Several international flights have been diverted or returned mid-route due to the closure of Iranian airspace following the recent strikes.
