The Milwaukee Brewers and the Miami Marlins faced off on Friday, July 4, 2025, at loanDepot Park in Miami, Florida. The game, which started at 7:10 PM ET, was broadcast on FDSFL.

Milwaukee entered the game with a 48-39 record, placing them second in the NL Central, four games behind the leading Cubs. The Marlins, at 39-46, were third in the NL East, 11 games back of the Phillies.

Quinn Priester started for the Brewers, boasting a 6-2 record and a 3.35 ERA. In his previous start, Priester pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing only one hit and striking out a career-high 11 batters against the Colorado Rockies. Sandy Alcantara took the mound for the Marlins, holding a 4-8 record with a 6.98 ERA.

The Brewers' offense has been performing well, ranking 10th in batting average (.247) and 8th in on-base percentage (.320). Christian Yelich leads the team with 17 home runs and 61 RBIs, while Sal Frelick has the highest batting average at .296. The Marlins' offense ranks sixth in the league with a .254 batting average. Agustin Ramirez has been a key contributor, with 13 home runs and 35 RBIs in his rookie season. Kyle Stowers leads the Marlins with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs, batting .283.

Several factors pointed toward a potential Brewers victory. Priester's recent dominance on the mound, combined with Alcantara's struggles this season, gave Milwaukee an advantage. The Brewers' strong hitting stats and ability to draw walks also positioned them well to capitalize on the matchup.

However, the Marlins were looking to build on their recent success, having won eight of their last nine games. Despite losing the middle game against the Twins, which ended their win streak, Miami aimed to leverage their home-field advantage.

The Brewers were favored with a moneyline of -115, while the Marlins were at -103. The run line was set at -1.5 (+145) for the Brewers and +1.5 (-173) for the Marlins. The total over/under was 8.0 runs.

Several betting trends were also noteworthy. The Marlins had lost nine of their last 10 home games following a win, while the Brewers had won six of their last seven games after a loss. Additionally, seven of the Marlins' last eight games as home underdogs had gone under the total runs line.
