One of the most significant records Gill is approaching is Don Bradman's record for the most runs by a captain in a Test series. Bradman scored 810 runs in the 1936-37 Ashes series, a record that has stood for 88 years. Gill, after two Tests in the current series, has already amassed 585 runs.
