On multiple occasions, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi has addressed the media on key national issues and recent political developments.
Accusations Against Rahul Gandhi In a press conference held earlier this year, Dr. Trivedi accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of insulting the Indian Army and echoing Pakistan's narrative. He strongly condemned Rahul Gandhi's comparison of 'Operation Sindoor' to a "surrender," calling it anti-national. Trivedi referenced the Congress party's history of past surrenders to highlight what he described as Rahul Gandhi's dangerous and irresponsible mindset. According to Trivedi, while political criticism is acceptable, spreading falsehoods about India, its pride, or its armed forces will not be tolerated. He expressed his shock that Rahul Gandhi's statements were being quoted in Pakistan's Parliament.
Trivedi questioned whether Rahul Gandhi intended to go a step further than terrorists and the Pakistani army by speaking their language. He suggested that Rahul Gandhi had been providing "cover fire" to Pakistan's terrorist organizations and its army, asking if he was now trying to become their 'Sartaj'.
Remarks on Alliances and Reservations In another press conference, Dr. Trivedi spoke on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency, a period he described as the darkest chapter in India's democratic history. He criticized the INDI alliance, stating that its Bihar leader, Tejashwi Yadav, had declared their intention to discard a law passed by Parliament.
Trivedi also raised concerns about reservations for backward classes, Dalits, and OBCs. He claimed that efforts were being made to undermine these reservations, alleging that the Congress government in Telangana had facilitated the entry of the Muslim community into the backward classes' reservation. He further stated that a large number of Muslims were being included in the OBC category, and when questioned, it was claimed that there are more castes in Muslim society than in Hindu society.
