A Kannada TV actor, Manjula Shruthi, was allegedly stabbed multiple times by her husband, Amresh, in Bengaluru on July 4, 2025. The incident occurred in the Muneshwara Layout, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Hanumanthanagar police station. The motive behind the attack is suspected infidelity.

Manjula Shruthi is known for her roles in Kannada TV serials like Amruthadhaare. She and Amresh had been married for 20 years after a love affair and have two children together. They resided in a rented house in Hanumanthanagar.

Reportedly, Amresh objected to Shruthi's "behavior," which led to a strained relationship between them. Shruthi had separated from her husband three months prior to the incident and had been living with her brother. There was also a dispute over house lease money, which led Shruthi to file a police complaint at the Hanumanthanagar police station.

Despite their separation and disputes, Manjula Shruthi and Amresh reportedly reconciled last Thursday. However, the reconciliation took a violent turn the very next day. Amresh allegedly attacked Shruthi when their children were away at college. He first used pepper spray and then stabbed her multiple times in the ribs, thigh, and neck. He also reportedly banged her head against the wall.

Following the attack, Shruthi is currently receiving treatment at Victoria Hospital. The Hanumanthanagar police have registered a case of attempted murder against Amresh and have arrested him. Police confirmed that two cases have been filed with the Hanumanthanagar police station regarding the domestic dispute between Shruthi and Amresh.
