The wait is almost over for the first glimpse into Farhan Akhtar's highly anticipated film, 120 Bahadur. Sources confirm that the teaser for the film is slated to be released alongside War 2 in theaters starting August 14, 2025. This strategic move will attach the teaser to one of the biggest Independence Day releases, ensuring maximum visibility.

120 Bahadur is a military action film set against the backdrop of the 1962 Indo-China War. The film pays tribute to Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a Param Vir Chakra recipient, and the soldiers of Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon Regiment, who displayed extraordinary courage during the Battle of Rezang La. This battle saw 120 Indian soldiers valiantly stand against a much larger Chinese force.

Farhan Akhtar will be seen in the lead role as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati. According to sources, Akhtar considers biopics a special genre, with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag being a landmark film in his career. He has undergone intense preparation to portray Major Shaitan Singh Bhati and will be seen in a never-before-seen avatar. A poster released last year featured Akhtar in a military uniform, carrying a rifle, showcasing his intense look for the part.

The film is directed by Razneesh Ghai, known for directing Dhaakad, and is produced by Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios. The makers are not compromising on the film's scale and have roped in an international crew for the key action sequences. Sources suggest that the teaser launch will be a grand affair, with plans for an immersive launch in Mumbai.

120 Bahadur is scheduled to hit theaters on November 21, 2025. The film is expected to be an intense war drama centered on the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian soldiers. Another actor in the film, Ankit Siwach, described it as a heart-wrenching film that is very special for the country. Excel Entertainment is optimistic about the film's theatrical prospects, aiming for another military hit after Lakshya.

While waiting for 120 Bahadur, those interested in the Battle of Rezang La can also watch the web series 1962: The War in the Hills, which is available on OTT platforms. The series stars Abhay Deol and offers a dramatized retelling of the battle. Farhan Akhtar is also preparing for his next directorial venture, Don 3, with Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani, scheduled to begin filming in January 2026.
