Ajith Kumar, the popular Tamil actor and motorsports enthusiast, was involved in a car crash during the GT4 European Series race held at the Misano World Circuit in Italy. The incident occurred during the second round of the series. Despite the high-speed collision with a stationary vehicle on the track, the actor emerged from the wreckage unharmed.

Eyewitnesses described the "frightening moment" when Ajith's car collided with the stationary vehicle, which had stopped abruptly on the track, leaving him with no room to avoid it. The impact caused significant front-end damage to his racing car, forcing him to withdraw from the race. Following the crash, Ajith declined medical attention, showcasing his resilience.

A video circulating online shows Ajith assisting the on-ground staff in clearing the debris from the racetrack after the accident. This act of helping with the cleanup has drawn attention and praise, highlighting his down-to-earth nature.

Ajith has been balancing his acting career with his passion for racing for over a decade, competing internationally in countries like Germany and Malaysia. He made his debut as a racer in 2003 in the Formula BMW Asia Championship and later participated in the 2010 Formula 2 Championship.

The accident at Misano occurred prior to Ajith's scheduled participation in the Crowdstrike 24 Hours of Spa 2025 driver parade in Belgium, where he is preparing for the third round of the GT4 European Series at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

News of the accident comes amidst a busy period for Ajith, following the mixed reception of his recent film “Vidamuyalchi” and the reported success of “Good Bad Ugly”. He is also scheduled to begin production on his next film with director Adhik Ravichandran in October.

The motorsports community has lauded Ajith's response to the dangerous situation, with fellow racers expressing relief that he was unharmed. Despite his experience as a racer, fans remain concerned about the risks involved in his racing pursuits. In 2025, Ajith was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian honor.
