The romantic drama Saiyaara, starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the second-highest Indian overseas grosser of 2025. The movie has surpassed both Chhaava and Thudarum in international markets.

Saiyaara has earned approximately ₹94 crore overseas, surpassing Chhaava's lifetime international collection of ₹91 crore. Among all Indian releases in 2025, Saiyaara is the second-highest-grossing film internationally, only behind L2: Empuraan, which grossed ₹124.50 crore. Thudarum grossed ₹93.80 crore internationally.

Domestically, Saiyaara has also performed well. The film has earned ₹273.50 crore in India as of Wednesday, July 30, 2025. The movie has earned over ₹400 crore worldwide.

Saiyaara has also become the highest-grossing love story in Hindi cinema, surpassing Kabir Singh. Yash Raj Films, the producer of Saiyaara, shared its worldwide earnings on Instagram, stating that the film has earned ₹404 crore worldwide, with ₹318 crore from India and ₹86 crore overseas.

The film had a record-breaking opening day, collecting ₹28.75 crore worldwide, which is the highest opening for a Hindi film featuring a debutant male lead. In its first 12 days, Saiyaara has become the first Indian film of 2025 to generate 500% returns at the Indian box office.

Saiyaara is directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films. The movie follows Krish Kapoor, a troubled musician, who develops a connection with Vaani Batra, a shy poet. The film was released on July 18, 2025, and has received positive reviews for Panday and Padda's performances, Suri's direction, and the soundtrack.

Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar and starring Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna, and Rashmika Mandanna, has grossed between ₹797.34 crore and ₹809 crore worldwide. Thudarum, starring Mohanlal, has grossed ₹234.5–235.30 crore.

Saiyaara's success is attributed to its emotional storyline, fresh faces, chart-topping music, and Mohit Suri's storytelling. The film's performance is especially notable because it stars debutants. Saiyaara has demonstrated that love stories can still be successful at the box office.
