The recent firing incident outside YouTuber Elvish Yadav's Gurugram residence has triggered reactions from various quarters, including fellow members of the entertainment industry. Siwet Tomar, known for his appearance on Splitsvilla X5 and rumored participation in Bigg Boss 19, has strongly responded to the event, expressing concern over the audacity of the act and questioning the government's priorities.
On Sunday morning, three masked men on a motorcycle fired over a dozen rounds at Elvish Yadav's house in Sector 56, Gurugram. Fortunately, the YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner was not home at the time, and his family members, who were inside, remained unharmed. CCTV footage captured the chilling scene as two of the assailants opened fire before fleeing.
Shortly after the incident, gangsters Neeraj Faridpuria and Bhau Ritoliya, linked to the Himanshu Bhau gang, claimed responsibility for the attack through a social media post. The post alleged that Elvish Yadav had promoted betting apps that had "destroyed many households" and warned other social media influencers against promoting such apps, threatening similar attacks.
Siwet Tomar, visibly disturbed by the incident, took to social media to voice his concerns. He criticized the Delhi government for focusing on issues like dog relocation while seemingly neglecting the rising crime rate in the city. Tomar emphasized the seriousness of the situation, highlighting the fact that individuals were brazenly firing bullets outside the residence of a public figure.
In a tweet, Tomar wrote, "Delhi government ko pehle Delhi mein badhti gundagardi rokni chahiye. Inko lagta hai kutte hatana important hai. Seriously ek public figure ke ghar ke bahar log goliyan chalake ja rahe hain, yeh toh haal hai aur inhe lagta dog bites problem hain. Wow yrrr wow". This translates to: "The Delhi government should first focus on controlling the growing crime in Delhi. They think removing stray dogs is important. Seriously, people are firing bullets outside a public figure's house, and this is the situation—yet they believe dog bites are the bigger problem. Wow, yaar, wow".
The Gurugram Police are currently investigating the case, collecting forensic evidence and analyzing CCTV footage. They have not yet officially verified the gang's claims of responsibility. According to police PRO Sandeep Kumar, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m., with three masked individuals firing more than a dozen rounds.
Elvish Yadav has since addressed the situation, assuring his fans and well-wishers that he and his family are safe. He expressed gratitude for the concern shown and acknowledged the alarming nature of the event.
The incident has brought the issue of online betting promotion and its potential consequences into the spotlight. The gangsters who claimed responsibility for the attack cited Yadav's promotion of betting apps as the motive, raising questions about the ethical responsibilities of influencers and the potential harm caused by such endorsements.
This is not the first time Siwet Tomar's name has been associated with Elvish Yadav. Previously, Tomar had supported Prince Narula during a controversy with Yadav and expressed his disapproval of Yadav's remarks during an ECL auction. However, Tomar has maintained that he has never spoken negatively about Yadav and does not want to engage in any controversies.
The firing at Elvish Yadav's house serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers faced by public figures and the importance of addressing issues like rising crime rates and the promotion of potentially harmful activities.
