Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the suspension of retaliatory military actions against Pakistan, stating that future moves are contingent upon Islamabad's actions. This decision comes after the launch of "Operation Sindoor" in response to a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians.

In his address to the nation, PM Modi asserted that India will not tolerate "nuclear blackmail" and emphasized that the operations have only been paused, with the future dependent on Pakistan's behavior. He declared that "Operation Sindoor" marks a new policy against terrorism, drawing a new line in India's approach. Modi stated firmly that talks with Pakistan can only occur regarding terrorism and the return of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

PM Modi criticized Pakistan for responding to India's strike against terrorism by targeting Indian schools, colleges, Gurudwaras, temples, civilian houses, and military bases. He lauded the Indian defense forces for conducting precise strikes on terrorist hideouts and training centers in Pakistan during "Operation Sindoor". He noted that terrorists could not have imagined India taking such a bold decision.

According to PM Modi, Pakistan's military was compelled to contact India's Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) following India's retaliation. He claimed that in just the first three days, India inflicted massive destruction on Pakistan. He repeated that India has merely suspended its retaliatory actions against Pakistan's terrorist and military targets for now. He further added that going forward, every step taken by Pakistan will be closely monitored.

PM Modi highlighted that "Operation Sindoor" was India's "unwavering commitment to justice" and a reflection of the feelings of millions of Indians. He stated that the operation, initiated on May 7, targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir based on intelligence inputs and eliminated over 100 terrorists, demonstrating India's zero tolerance towards terrorism.

PM Modi emphasized that terror and talks cannot go hand in hand, nor can terror and trade, and that water and blood cannot flow together. He vowed decisive action against terrorist bases operating under the guise of threats, with no distinction between government-sponsored terrorism and terrorist organizations.
