The Indian Army's Engineer Bomb Disposal Squad is actively working to retrieve and defuse projectiles found in residential areas in the Nowshera sub-division of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir. This crucial operation aims to protect local residents from harm, following recent intense shelling by Pakistan across the Line of Control (LoC). The Army has been engaged in defusing these live shells fired by Pakistan in the border areas almost daily, ensuring the safety of civilian lives.

Recent reports indicate that Pakistan fired over 300 artillery bombs into the Nowshera sector. The Indian Army's swift action in neutralizing these unexploded shells is vital for the safety and security of the villagers in the area. Visuals from the Nowshera sector show the recovery and destruction of these shells by the Indian forces. These artillery shells were allegedly used by Pakistan to target innocent civilians, resulting in casualties and injuries.

In response to the situation, the Indian Army's Romeo Force is conducting door-to-door visits in the Poonch district, near the LoC, providing medicines and rations to local residents affected by the shelling. Many houses have been damaged due to the intense shelling, forcing residents to seek shelter with their neighbors. Locals have expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for their support and assistance during these challenging times.

The recent increase in tension follows "Operation Sindoor," which was launched by the Indian Armed Forces in retaliation for the April 22 Pahalgam attack. The operation targeted terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The British Foreign Secretary has condemned the attacks and expressed support for India's retaliation.

Amid these developments, there have been reports of encounters between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. An encounter broke out in the Nader Tral area of Awantipora district. Additionally, three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists were killed in an encounter in the Shopian district. A large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered during "Operation Keller" in Shopian.

While the Indian Army focuses on maintaining security and neutralizing threats, efforts are also underway to restore normalcy in the region. As India and Pakistan have reached an understanding for the cessation of hostilities, daily life in areas like Akhnoor is gradually returning to normal.
