A video circulating online shows three men being forced to sit on a highway in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, while police officers strike them with sticks. The incident has sparked outrage and raised concerns about police brutality.

The three men, identified as Victor, Babulal, and Rakesh, are reportedly followers of a local figure named Laddu, who allegedly attacked a constable, Chiranjeevi, in Aitanagar a month prior while under the influence of drugs. The video shows the men sitting with their legs stretched out on the Tenali highway, surrounded by numerous police officers.

In the video, a police officer can be seen testing the stick before striking one of the men on his feet. After the first blow, the man cries out in pain and attempts to withdraw his feet, but the officer orders him back into the original position and continues to strike him multiple times. The man repeatedly apologizes throughout the ordeal. The other two men are then subjected to the same treatment. One of the men received approximately ten blows while continuously pleading. Another officer is then offered a choice of sticks, selecting a new one to continue the beating. As the man writhes in pain, another officer places his boot on the man's legs to hold them still while the blows continue.

Ambati Rambabu, a spokesperson for the YSR Party, shared the video on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing the police action. The incident has drawn strong reactions online, with many condemning the police's behavior as excessive and a violation of human rights. Concerns have been raised regarding the legality and ethical implications of such public punishment.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. Further investigation is anticipated to determine the justification for the police's actions and whether proper procedures were followed. The incident has ignited a debate about police accountability and the need for reforms to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
