Ed Sheeran is expanding his real estate portfolio in Suffolk, East England, with the purchase of a second property near his current "Sheeranville" estate. The "Castle on the Hill" singer, who already resides on his lavish estate with his wife, Cherry, and their two daughters, Lyra and Jupiter, is planning to transform the newly acquired farmhouse and its surrounding land into an entertaining space and recording studio.
According to a source from The Sun newspaper, Sheeran's latest acquisition is a Grade II-listed farmhouse with extensive land. He intends to convert the property into a "home from home," primarily for entertainment and music production. The land includes several barns, one of which is being converted into a recording studio.
Sheeran is also creating an elaborate "man cave" within a former piggery on the property. This recreational space will feature a bar, gym, pool table, and a bowling alley – an amenity Sheeran has long desired. Another barn is under consideration for conversion into a rehearsal space, with plans for an office and library upstairs.
In addition to the entertainment and recording facilities, Sheeran is also focusing on restoring the fields and gardens to grow vegetables. An outdoor kitchen is being installed to facilitate entertaining. The singer views his first estate as his family home, while the second property will serve as a "paradise" for leisure and creative pursuits.
This expansion comes after Sheeran faced some restrictions from his wife, Cherry, regarding his initial plans for their primary residence. He mentioned on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that Cherry often advises him against overly extravagant ideas. Sheeran had wanted to install a bowling alley at their home, but Cherry felt it was unnecessary and would create an undesirable environment for their children.
Sheeran's main estate, dubbed "Sheeranville", already includes a swimming pool, a two-story treehouse, a pub, and a chapel. Over the years, he has steadily expanded the estate by purchasing neighboring properties. These additions have sometimes caused friction with local residents. Ed also has a grave plot set aside for himself in a chapel on his estate.
Sheeran's decision to expand his Suffolk holdings reflects his deep connection to the area. He grew up in Framlingham, a town located just a few kilometers from his estate. He feels a sense of protection and grounding in Suffolk, which allows him to balance his personal and professional life.
