Recent reports suggest that Aamir Khan is closely monitoring the Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, fueling speculation that his next project might be a murder mystery thriller inspired by the shocking crime. The case involves the death of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based businessman, during his honeymoon in Meghalaya with his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi.

Raja and Sonam Raghuvanshi were married on May 11 and traveled to Meghalaya for their honeymoon on May 20. They were reported missing on May 23 from Sohra, a region approximately 65 km from Shillong. On June 2, Raja's decomposed body was discovered in a gorge. Suspicion quickly fell on Sonam, who also went missing.

The police investigation revealed a complex web of deceit and betrayal. Meghalaya police alleged that Sonam had an extramarital affair and conspired with her boyfriend, Raj Kushwaha, to hire contract killers to murder her husband. Sonam was eventually found in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and was taken into custody on June 8.

Further investigation revealed that Sonam had been in contact with a man named Sanjay Verma, later identified as her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, making over 100 phone calls to him before her marriage to Raja. Police investigations revealed that Kushwaha allegedly hired three hitmen to kill Raja. The hitmen reportedly made three unsuccessful attempts on Raja's life in Guwahati, Nongriat, and near Weisawdong Falls before finally succeeding in Sohra. Raja was reportedly attacked with machetes.

After the murder, Sonam traveled through Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh before arriving in Indore. She had left behind her mangalsutra and a ring in a trolley bag at a Sohra homestay, which raised suspicion about her involvement.

In connection with the case, the Meghalaya Police have arrested a total of seven people. These include Sonam Raghuvanshi, Raj Kushwaha, and three alleged hitmen: Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi. Additionally, an Indore property dealer named Shilom James and a security guard named Balveer Ahirwar were arrested for allegedly helping Sonam and Raj dispose of evidence. James is accused of burning a box containing jewelry, a laptop, and a firearm allegedly owned by Kushwaha.

According to reports, Aamir Khan has been closely following the case and discussing the details with his inner circle. A source told Zoom that there might be a development on the subject from his production house. It remains to be seen whether Khan will act in the film or simply produce it. Discussions regarding the film are reportedly in the early stages, and details about casting and other logistics are yet to be finalized.

The Meghalaya honeymoon murder case has gripped the nation with its twists and turns. If Aamir Khan decides to make a film based on this case, it would undoubtedly be a highly anticipated project.
