Sudhanshu Pandey, known for his role in the television series Anupamaa, has expressed his interest in joining the reboot of the iconic show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. In an interview with Zoom, Pandey called Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi an "iconic" show, acknowledging its role in launching the careers of many stars. He stated he would love to be a part of such a show.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, produced by Ekta Kapoor, is making a comeback with a new season. The show, which originally aired in 2000 and ran for eight years, is set to premiere on July 3, 2025, on Netflix. The reboot will be a finite series consisting of 150 episodes. The original cast members, Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, will reprise their roles as Tulsi Virani and Mihir Virani, respectively.

Pandey revealed that he had been approached by someone from Balaji Telefilms, Ekta Kapoor's production house, but he was not informed about the specific role. He was simply asked how much he would charge. While it was speculated that he was being considered for the role of Mihir Virani, Pandey denied these claims.

The actor, who gained significant recognition for portraying Vanraj Shah in Anupamaa, exited the show in 2024. Following his departure, he joined Karan Johar's show The Traitors.

Notably, the filming of the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi reboot faced a slight delay due to Vastu-related concerns. The production team made changes to the set's layout to address key energy flow issues, as Ekta Kapoor wanted to ensure a successful relaunch for the iconic show.

Hitesh Tejwani has drawn comparisons between Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Anupamaa. When asked about the comparisons, Tejwani said that audiences would decide once the new show premiered.

Smriti Irani will be provided with Z+ security during the filming of the new season. Amar Upadhyay expressed his surprise at the continued popularity of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, especially given the number of shows currently airing. He acknowledged the pressure to live up to the expectations of the audience, who still have a deep connection with the characters of Tulsi and Mihir.
