Addressing the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Home Minister Amit Shah strongly refuted claims made by former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram regarding the origins of the terrorists involved in the recent Pahalgam attack. Shah asserted that India has irrefutable evidence linking the terrorists to Pakistan, countering what he suggested was an attempt by Chidambaram to give Pakistan a "clean chit".

Shah stated that the three terrorists killed in Operation Mahadev were responsible for the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed. He presented evidence, including Pakistani voter identity numbers found on two of the slain terrorists. Shah added that even the chocolates recovered from the terrorists were manufactured in Pakistan, further solidifying their connection to the country.

According to sources, foreign rifles were also seized from the terrorists during Operation Mahadev, further exposing Pakistan's involvement. The operation resulted in the death of Suleiman Shah, a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander believed to be the mastermind behind the April 22 attack.

Shah emphasized the government's unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism from every corner of the country. He reiterated that the fight against terrorism will continue relentlessly and that those responsible for the Pahalgam attack would face severe consequences. He affirmed that not only the 1.4 billion people of India but also the entire world stands united with India in this fight.

The Home Minister highlighted the government's zero-tolerance policy against those promoting terrorism in Kashmir since the 1990s. He asserted that the government would not spare anyone involved in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The April 22 Pahalgam attack involved terrorists targeting tourists in South Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 26 people. The attack, claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a front organization for the Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), drew widespread condemnation.
