The Rashtrapati Bhavan has announced that the Change of Guard ceremony will not be held on August 2, 9, and 16, 2025. The Ceremonial Battalion will be occupied with rehearsals for two significant upcoming events.

Firstly, the battalion will be preparing for the guard of honour to be presented to the visiting President of the Philippines, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. President Marcos Jr. is scheduled to visit India from August 4 to 8. Secondly, the Ceremonial Battalion is also preparing for the Independence Day ceremony.

The Change of Guard ceremony is a military tradition where a new group of guards takes over from the old group. It is a symbolic event that represents the peaceful and orderly transfer of power and responsibility. The ceremony is usually held at the Forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
