During a live broadcast of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) final, the owner of WCL, Harshit Tomar, told anchor Karishma Kotak, "I'm going to propose to you". This unexpected declaration occurred at the end of an interview Kotak was conducting with Tomar after the match. Kotak, visibly surprised, responded with "Oh my god" before quickly returning to her role as presenter.

The moment quickly gained traction on social media, with many viewers describing the exchange as awkward and uncomfortable. Some criticized Tomar's directness, suggesting it put Kotak in a difficult position during a live broadcast.

Adding to the online buzz, Tomar later posted a picture of himself with Kotak on social media, accompanied by a heart emoji. A WCL team member further commented "touchwood" on the post, hinting at a possible existing connection between the two.

Karishma Kotak is a British model, actress, and TV presenter. She began her modeling career at the age of 16 and has worked on various projects in the UK and India. Notably, she was featured in the 2006 Kingfisher Calendar. She also participated in the Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss 6. Kotak has also presented the televised show Extraaa Innings T20, a post-match analysis of the Indian Premier League.

The WCL has also faced other controversies. Prior to the incident involving Tomar and Kotak, a major sponsor, EaseMyTrip, withdrew from the India-Pakistan semifinal match. This decision was based on the company's policy of non-participation in any match involving Pakistan, citing concerns about terrorism. The company emphasized that national interests were more important than business considerations. An earlier league stage clash between India and Pakistan was also called off due to objections from Indian players and a sponsor, following a terror attack.

Despite the controversies, the WCL final saw Pakistan Champions set a score of 195/5, thanks to Sharjeel Khan's 76 off 44 balls. However, de Villiers' aggressive batting led his team to victory.
