Kerala BJP Vice President C. Krishnakumar has vehemently denied allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him by a woman, asserting that the accusations are false and stem from a property dispute. Krishnakumar addressed the media in Palakkad, stating that the complaint is a politically motivated attempt to tarnish his reputation.

Krishnakumar claims that the complainant is a relative of his wife and has been raising these charges for several years. He stated that the woman had filed a civil case against him following a will that named his wife as the sole successor, but the court dismissed the case in July 2024 after recording his father-in-law's statement. He further added that both the police and the court had previously dismissed the civil case related to the property dispute and a domestic violence case, finding no evidence to support the harassment charges.

According to Krishnakumar, the woman initially filed a complaint in 2014 alleging domestic violence and sexual harassment. While FIRs were registered in both cases, only the domestic violence case proceeded to court, with the court ruling in favor of Krishnakumar and his wife in 2023 and 2024, respectively. He maintains that the police found no basis for the sexual assault charge.

Krishnakumar has hinted at a political conspiracy led by the Congress party, suggesting that the allegations are an attempt to divert attention from the sexual misconduct allegations against Palakkad MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. He also alluded to the involvement of Congress leader Sandeep Varier, who previously served in the BJP, as being behind the allegations.

The allegations have surfaced at a time when the BJP has been actively campaigning against Rahul Mamkootathil, who is facing his own allegations of sexual misconduct. The complainant reportedly sent a complaint to BJP state Chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar, whose office acknowledged receipt. In the complaint, the woman alleges that she was subjected to sexual assault by Krishnakumar some years ago. She claims to have approached several senior BJP leaders, including Gopalankutty Master, V. Muraleedharan, MT Ramesh, and Subhash, but no action was taken. She stated that she felt humiliated and abandoned after her complaint was ignored and demanded Krishnakumar's expulsion from the party.

Krishnakumar has stated that the party leadership has not sought an explanation from him regarding the complaint. He has also expressed his readiness to face any investigation and provide clarification if requested by the state leadership.

Meanwhile, former BJP leader Sandeep G Varier, now a KPCC spokesperson, posted a message on social media questioning whether the BJP would take action against Krishnakumar, similar to the action taken by the Congress against Rahul Mamkootathil.

BJP workers have rallied in support of Krishnakumar, dismissing the charges as baseless. Posters defending him have also been circulated in Palakkad. Krishnakumar, who has been a prominent figure in the BJP in Palakkad for several decades and had contested against Rahul in the recent Palakkad Assembly bypoll, has stated that he will handle the matter legally.
