The premiere of Aryan Khan's directorial debut, "The Ba***ds of Bollywood," has been a major talking point, not just for the star-studded attendance and the launch of Aryan's career, but also for a rather unexpected sartorial statement made by comedian Samay Raina. Raina, who was present at the premiere to support Aryan, sported a black t-shirt with the words "Say No to Cruise" emblazoned across it, sparking a flurry of reactions and interpretations.

The seemingly innocuous message was quickly interpreted as a cheeky reference to Aryan Khan's highly publicized arrest in October 2021. Khan was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) following a raid on a rave party aboard the Cordelia Empress cruise ship. The case attracted significant media attention, and Aryan was later given a clean chit due to a lack of evidence.

The premiere of "The Ba***ds of Bollywood" took place on Wednesday, and the picture of Samay Raina and Aryan Khan was shared on Instagram by Aryan's cousin, Arjun Chhiba. The premiere was attended by the Khan family, including Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam. Many other Bollywood celebrities were in attendance such as Ajay Devgn and Kajol, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and Madhuri Dixit. Suhana Khan turned heads in a mustard-yellow slit gown.

The image of Raina and Khan together, with the loaded message on the t-shirt, quickly went viral, triggering reactions across social media platforms. While Raina himself didn't make any explicit statement or remark at the event, the t-shirt spoke volumes.

Online, opinions were divided. Some found Raina's choice of attire humorous and a clever jab at the past controversy. Others felt it was in poor taste, considering the sensitivity surrounding the case and the fact that Aryan was eventually cleared of all charges. Some Reddit users commented on the picture saying "Is it a dig at his drug case?" and "Samay's a different breed".

Despite the controversy surrounding the t-shirt, many noticed that Aryan Khan seemed to take it in good humor. A photo circulating online captured Aryan smiling as he stood next to Samay, a rare sight given his usually stoic demeanor. This prompted reactions such as "Samay Raina got Aryan Khan to SMILE??", highlighting the comedian's ability to elicit a positive response from the young director.

"The Ba***ds of Bollywood," co-written by Aryan Khan with Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, is a self-parody of Bollywood and features cameos from prominent figures like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Karan Johar. The show stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba and Manoj Pahwa, among others. The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
