The recently released teaser offers a glimpse into the film's world, hinting at a narrative filled with thrill, action, and romance. The music, including the song "Neendh Bhi Teri," has already garnered attention.

Kashyap describes Nishaanchi as a film in the vein of Salim-Javed, the iconic screenwriter duo, known for writing blockbusters like Sholay, Deewar, and Zanjeer. He emphasizes the film's hero, drama, and satisfying payoff. Kashyap also noted the differences between Nishaanchi and his earlier work, Gangs of Wasseypur, highlighting that Nishaanchi comes from a personal space.

The cast includes Vedika Pinto as Rinku, Monika Panwar as Amma, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Kamaal Ajeeb, and Kumud Mishra as Ambika Chacha. The film is produced by Ajay Rai and Ranjan Singh under Jar Pictures, in association with Flip Films. The script is written by Prasoon Mishra, Ranjan Chandel, and Anurag Kashyap.

Kashyap mentioned that Nishaanchi was initially conceived in 2016 and that he wanted Sushant Singh Rajput for the lead role. However, Rajput's commitments to other projects led to the recasting of the film.

Anurag Kashyap has said that Nishaanchi is his "longest and most elaborate shoot yet," with 69 days spent on filming. He also shared the film's initial title was "Babloo Nishaanchi, Rangilee Rinku, and Dabloo".
