Devoleena Bhattacharjee's First Durga Puja After Welcoming Son Joy: A Celebration of Family and Tradition

Durga Puja 2025 is proving to be an extra special occasion for actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee as she celebrates her first Durga Puja with her son, Joy. The actress, known for her role as Gopi Bahu in "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," is embracing the festive spirit with a renewed sense of joy and gratitude.

Devoleena, who married Shahnawaz Shaikh two years ago, welcomed baby Joy earlier this year. The actress has expressed how becoming a mother has deepened her connection to the festival and its significance.

In the days leading up to Durga Puja, Devoleena shared glimpses of her preparations on social media. A recent post featured her looking radiant in a mint green saree adorned with golden work, paired with a dark green blouse. The actress expressed her excitement about welcoming Maa Durga with love and joy. Her fans have flooded the post with appreciation for her festive look and style.

"Durga Puja has always been such a special time for me," Devoleena shared in a recent interview. "I have so many memories of waking up early, heading to the pandals with my family, and soaking in the festive atmosphere". This year, celebrating with her son adds an entirely new dimension to the festivities. "I feel Maa Durga's blessings even more this year," she said. "Even though I can't go pandal hopping as much, I'm already so excited to experience it with my little one! That thought fills me with so much joy".

While Devoleena is reveling in the joy of celebrating with her son, she also holds cherished memories of past Durga Pujas. She fondly recalls helping with the puja arrangements as a child, which made her feel closer to Goddess Durga. "The lights, the sound of the dhaak (drums), and being surrounded by so much joy are things I look forward to every year," she added.

Devoleena's devotion to her faith is well-known. Earlier this year, she shared glimpses of the annual Satyanarayan Puja she organizes at her home. The actress actively participates in the puja, wearing traditional attire and overseeing the arrangements.

The actress also acknowledged completing 13 years in the entertainment industry. Though she had forgotten the date, her fans reminded her with cakes and flowers, which she celebrated with her husband, friends, and family.

Amidst the celebrations, Devoleena also faced some unwarranted criticism on social media. After posting photos in traditional Navratri attire, some users trolled her, falsely assuming she was pregnant again and insensitive to mourning in Assam. However, many fans jumped to her defense, pointing out that she had previously expressed her condolences for the singer Zubeen Garg.

Despite the negativity, Devoleena remains focused on celebrating Durga Puja with her family and cherishing the blessings in her life. She prays that Maa Durga keeps everyone healthy and happy and blesses her family with good health and happiness. For Devoleena, Durga Puja is a time for love, togetherness, and devotion, and this year, it's made even more special by the presence of her son, Joy.
