Pawan Kalyan's recent action thriller, "They Call Him OG," is reportedly heading to OTT platforms soon, with a likely release on Netflix around late October 2025. The film, directed by Sujeeth, hit theaters worldwide on September 25, 2025, and made a strong impression at the box office.
"They Call Him OG" reportedly secured a lucrative deal with Netflix for ₹92 crore, covering Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi languages. While the official OTT release date is yet to be announced, reports suggest it will be available for streaming by late October 2025. Typically, Telugu films are available on OTT platforms within four to eight weeks of their theatrical release, depending on their box office performance and distribution agreements.
The film's narrative centers around Ojas Gambheera (OG), a former gangster who tries to leave his violent past behind. However, he is forced to return when Omi Bhau creates chaos in Mumbai. The movie explores whether OG will revert to his old life as a gangster and the reasons for his disappearance. The cast includes Pawan Kalyan as Ojas Gambheera/Master Orochi Genshin "OG", Emraan Hashmi as Omkar Vardhaman Mirajkar "Omi Bhau", Priyanka Mohan as Dr. Kanmani (Ojas' wife), and Prakash Raj as Satyanarayana Roy Nandan "Satya Dada".
"They Call Him OG" has received mixed reviews from critics. However, the movie has been a commercial success. On its first day, the film grossed ₹100 crore worldwide, with ₹70 crore net in India. Within its first week, "OG" surpassed the ₹160 crore mark domestically. By its seventh day in theaters, the film had grossed ₹161.39 crore domestically. On its eighth day, the film made ₹7.50 crore, bringing the total domestic collection to ₹169.10 crore.
Following the film's success, Pawan Kalyan announced plans for both a prequel and a sequel to "They Call Him OG". He stated that the film's positive reception and box office performance motivated the expansion of the "OG" franchise.
"They Call Him OG" is produced by DVV Entertainment with a budget of ₹200 to ₹250 crore. The film's music is composed by Thaman S, and the cinematography is handled by Ravi K. Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa.
